A Play Date (Ash) « Thread Started on Jul 1, 2009, 11:01am »
Jane moved through the trees deftly leading Ash with only a 3 Wood and several golf balls in her pocket. Her hand was firmly wrapped around his, something she had grown fond of over the past month, but especially in the last few days. Ever since their coming together at the waterfall, Jane found herself feeling inseparable from the man. It was like she couldn't breathe if he wasn't attached to her at the hip, or at least by the hand. If it wasn't so intoxicating to be with Ash, Jane might have realized how incredibly juvenile it was to be that clingy, but she simply couldn't help herself.
Breaking through the trees, Jane felt the sun hit upon her face. She lifted her chin to it, closing her eyes briefly and taking in the warmth. Soon, it would be too warm to be out in the field they designated for playing golf. Well, Hurley did it, but since he disappeared, many others had taken up his idea that fun was a necessary part of survival. Jane just so happened to think that today was a good time to have some... or some that actually included leaving the tent. They hadn't done that very much for days now.
Tugging at Ash's hand gently, Jane squeezed it and looked to him, opening her eyes and smiling into his. She had been looking forward to a golf lesson ever since he claimed to Sawyer that he could teach she and the little girl better that one day a couple of weeks ago. Now that they were intimate, Jane simply saw this as an even more exciting opportunity. All anxiety from their closeness would be turned into fun because Jane had more than accepted Ash as part of her life. In fact, she embraced it.
"Looks like a perfect day for this," Jane commented as they walked up the hill. "Think you can really teach me how to hit the little white ball straight toward the hole? Because really I don't think anyone would be very happy if I lost all their balls to the jungle."

This stupid Island adventure was finally starting to seem more like a holiday and less like a... Helliday. Which was a terrible pun, but seemed to fit the crappy situation pretty much. Or at least what Ash had considered to be a crappy situation, it was much less so now. Much, much, much less so. Actually, the "great" side of things were really outweighing the "crappy" side of things, which meant that it was more... great than crappy. He thought. Sometimes these scales and stuff were hard to read, but... yeah. Ash was getting off point again. That was Janes' fault. Totally. She made it hard to focus or stay on a point. That woman was just so... wow. Yes. "Wow." Wow was the one word that kept springing to mind in reference to her, because everything else seemed to fall short, or just... be way, way, way too underwhelming. They weren't grand enough, y'know?
Ever since they'd done the deed (and then done it a few more times just for safety) Ash felt like he could well trip over his feet whenever he walked, that he could bump his noggin off a tree trunk or just... fall on his ass, and it'd be ok. Whenever he was around Jane, he was in this funny little daze, and while that wasn't the safest thing on an island filled with dangerous hazards and hostile natives, he was willing to risk it, just because he wasn't willing to try and avoid this feeling she made him feel. It was amazing. It was - at the risk of sounding redundant - wow.
Jane and he had been cooped up in the tent for so long making up for lost time and snuggling after that he swore that he was starting to go a little pale. Not that he was complaining! Dear God no! She was... wow. Wow wow wow. He was using that word a lot, but she made him. She really did. Every look, every touch, every word, every smile, it made him grin like an idiot. An idiot in love. Which is what he very much was. And, for once, it wasn't hard to admit it.
Mostly because Jane looked so good naked. Not that he doubted that or anything. He hadn't really thought the chances of her having a third nipple or a vestigial tail or something were very high, but now he knew for sure. Ash had a very... thorough appreciation of Janes' form now. And hopefully he'd get to appreciate it a lot more. While naked. And... doing things. Fun things.
Now, they were walking around and holding hands. Normally, Ash wasn't the hand holding kinda guy. He was rarely so... innocent? It used to be that he only ever got particularly close to a girl when she was naked. And he was naked, or in the process of getting naked. Hand holding and that kinda thing didn't happen too often, largely because that was what tended to happen in a serious relationship. And he'd had... precisely... zero of those. Before Jane anyway. She was his first. And really? He was delighted for that. Ash couldn't think of anyone he'd prefer to take this leap with.
This was a golf lesson. Jane wanted to learn and Ash said he could teach her. Hey, any opportunity to feel her up was a welcome one, right? Right! She certainly didn't seem to mind, and if she didn't mind, and he certainly knew he didn't mind, then everybody was happy. Very happy. Especially if it led to more intensive activities afterward. Such as pinning. Which was very '50s of him, but gosh darnit, he felt nostalgic today. Despite not being alive in the '50s.
Biting down on his lip when Jane started to mention "balls" and "holes", he had to wonder if the phrasing had been intentional. Most likely it was, she was much saucier than she'd have most people believe, a fact that he was pretty pleased to be the only one on the Island privy to. If she wasn't putting any intentional double meanings into what she was saying... eh. She should know better than to give him the opening.
"Oh yeah. Of course. I love teaching you... stuff. Plus you're a good student. And you're a fast learner. Diligent too. Thorough."
Letting out a little snort, shaking his head, "If I keep that up any longer, I'm gonna start picturin' you in a Catholic schoolgirl outfit and be sad 'cause they don't have anything like that 'round here. So... I just can't do that to myself."

Jane chuckled lightly as Ash replied, cryptically and yet not very subtle at all. It amused her to know he thought her a good student, but at the same time bothered her in ways she wouldn't give voice. She already knew he was much more experienced than she in the realm of sexuality, but Jane preferred not to be reminded of it. She liked to think that when she was with him, she was the only woman on his mind, the only woman he could think of. Contemplating him teaching her the fine art of love making implied he was recalling other experiences, and Jane just didn't chose to go there.
So instead she giggled, a laugh that was genuine and grew at his confession of not thinking too hard about her in a Catholic school girl outfit. "I used to wear one of those once," Jane admitted rather mischievously. "But I think I was ten, and definitely not what you were thinking of."
Walking still up the hill, Jane smiled as she remembered that time in her life. It was brief, but there were some things about it worth the moment of recollection. "It was when we moved to Mexico. I got to meet some extended family there and my father insisted I attend the school there despite my mother's protests." She smirked then at the thought. "Needless to say, it last only one semester before my mother won." Jane looked up at Ash with that same grin. "She was a very persuasive woman."
They neared the top of the hill where the morning sun seemed at its brightest and Jane slowed her steps. She definitely wanted to know how to golf. It was something her father did often, though now Jane understood why he had so many meetings at the tee. She stifled a sour look, a frown that threatened to pierce her newly found happiness and returned her thoughts to more pleasant things. "I bet that tiny little outfit would look quite... interesting now," she teased. "It'd be pretty hard to get on I'm afraid."

Ash liked to think that he was "teaching" Jane about more than just golfing. He didn't really know too much about her love life before she met him, but it pretty much went without saying that he was very likely the more experienced of the two. Looking as good as she did, Ash didn't doubt that she had her share of offers and admirers, but... well... he'd been around the block more than a few times. More than he could count actually, so he really did have his doubts that she was as... well... traveled as he was. Especially since she didn't really seem like the kind of person to sleep around a lot. Jane was flirty and pretty naughty when she wanted to be, but that was only a recent thing. It had been a long time getting to this point because she'd genuinely been very closed off.
He didn't have a clear idea as to why, something about not wanting him to get hurt, but at least now he didn't have to worry about being kept at arms length anymore. She let him in and he was delighted she had. He really didn't think he could have held out too much longer, even though he'd have tried as hard as he could so as not to make Jane feel uncomfortable or anything. Her happiness mattered to him. That she felt secure and safe and happy in this relationship was a pretty big deal to him. He wouldn't have rocked the boat just for the sake of wanting to get closer to her. He knew closeness would come in time and... he'd been right.
Sometimes it really did surprise him how far they'd come, it seemed like not too long ago that they were engaging in verbal sparring matches anytime they were within shouting distance of one another, he really did have to pull himself together when he remembered just how rocky a road it had been. Jane... hadn't really been his biggest fan at first, and he figured she had a reason for that, but she'd come around eventually, after a lot of effort on his part and some pretty tender moments they'd been more or less forced to share. It hadn't been the easiest road to get to this point, but it had been worth it, there wasn't a doubt in Ash's mind. He'd have gone through all of that again if he had to.
Making a face at the mention of ten year old Jane wearing a school girl outfit, "Not... really the picture I wanted to imagine. Which is a good thing too. Doubt you'd wanna be with me if I did."
Grinning, "With good reason too."
Listening to her tell him the tale of the uniform, Ash was pleased that she was so eager to share this stuff with him now. He wanted to learn everything he could about her, and for a while that had been tricky, but now she seemed pretty willing to share, and he was determined to let her do it as much as she wanted. She fascinated him. So naturally he wanted to hear everything he could.
Shrugging lightly, "Maybe. Probably. But I think..."
Quirking his eyebrow and giving her a sly little smirk, "I think I may prepare your birthday suit to pretty much any other kinda get up. If you don't mind me sayin' so, of course."

Jane's smile broadened with Ash's comment about her birthday suit being his preferred choice. She gave him a slight elbow to his ribs, not too hard, more of a playful nudge. "Oh I think we already established that," she laughed.
It felt pretty normal to be here with Ash, setting up to play golf and joking around like a couple of awestruck lovers. They really were pretty enamored with one another, or so it seemed. Jane knew she was enamored with Ash, at least. It was enough of am infatuation that Jane didn't even think very often of her fears lately, and that was something pretty huge for the woman. Deep down she knew there was a likelihood something horrible could happen to Ash, and with her track record, it probably would. But Jane had gotten good at pretending nothing ever would happen. It was how she was all smiles this afternoon.
Nudging Ash back away from the spot Jane hoped to tee the ball, she reached into her pocket and withdrew one of the little wooden tees and leaned over in front of Ash to push it into the ground. Jane placed the little white ball on the tee, and it immediately fell off. She picked it up and put it back on three times before it stayed. She didn't get why it couldn't just sit there like a good little ball, but likely it had to do with her pushing the tee in askew.
Jane stood back up and looked over her shoulder at Ash with a mischievous grin, hoping he had gotten a nice view like she intended by bending over in front of him and letting her boy shorts ride up a bit. She found it endlessly fun to tease him like that.
"So how ya wanna do this?" Jane asked, that knowing little smirk across her face.

"I figured as much, but hey, can't really overstate that, can I?"
He grinned at the playful little nudge, teasingly faking a wince. A big part of why Ash loved spending time with Jane was because he finally had someone to have fun with around here. Before he felt like he'd been the one guy who hadn't had a stick up his ass, and that got frustrating. He knew the situation wasn't exactly sunshine and roses, but that didn't mean everything had to be doom and gloom. Or... maybe he just felt that now that he had a reason to be happy. Probably. He couldn't just pretend that he hadn't been a big cynic for a good long time, but the more time he spent with Jane, the less cynical he felt. She really did make it easy for him to smile and try to enjoy life, such as it was. Even stuck on an island, things were pretty great.
Moving away when nudged, still grinning at the playfulness of the situation, Ash noted not for the first time that if the price he paid for meeting someone like Jane was to get stuck on a crazy Island in the middle of nowhere, he'd gladly pay it. At least it was starting to seem like an actual paradise with her around, as opposed to just a crazy death trap with wacky surprises lurking around every corner. And by "wacky", he meant "lethal." Very lethal. He'd heard stories of the things out in the jungle, Hell, he'd encountered the smoke monster with Jane. Wasn't something he was in a big hurry to repeat.
Taking a few steps back so he could get a better look at Jane's form (in both senses of the word) he chuckled when she glanced over his shoulder, knowing that he'd probably take this opportunity to ogle her. She knew him far too well. It was kind of nice that she wouldn't chew him out for eying her, now she seemed to actually like it. He knew he certainly liked it, so it was a good arrangement all in all.
Tapping a finger on his chin, frowning, looking like he was putting some very deep thought into all of this, "I think... it's too hot out and we should dress down. To... avoid overheating. And then I should help your form. By guiding your strokes. With expert precision."
He had to bite down on his lip to stop himself from laughing, but it was pretty obvious by his expression that he was enjoying this.

Hearing the double entendres Ash answered her with, hinting at so much more than playing golf, Jane couldn't help but laugh lightly under her breath. Her grin stretched across her face and felt so reminiscent of days long gone. Her heart hadn't felt this light in a very long time, nor had Jane smiled in the last two years nearly as much as she had the last two weeks or so. And it was all thanks to her opening up and letting the handsome man into her life who was teaching her how to play golf (and so many other things).
Moving closer to Ash, Jane wrapped her arms around his neck, the golf club still in one hand and the little white ball in the other. She pressed her front against his chest and moved in like she planned to kiss him but stopped just short of it. She kissed his chin where he had been tapping it before with his fore finger then lifted to her toes to give him Eskimo kisses, rubbing her nose on his.
"It does sound very appropriate, Mr. Higgins," Jane smirked, keeping her face close to his but doing nothing more. "All except the naked golf part. The last time I checked, getting naked in the middle of the golf course was against some new island rules or something."
Accentuating her tease, Jane pulled back from Ash slightly, staring into his dark eyes a little longer than she intended, but finding it difficult not to. Something about the man just pulled her into his enchantment, causing her reluctance to abandon any form of connection. Hence, while she was supposed to be golfing - or learning to, that is - here she was still holding on loosely to him and staring into his eyes.
Coming to her senses (or losing them entirely), Jane moved to release Ash, unsure if he would permit it or not, but chose to try to stay on track for what she hoped to accomplish this morning. "So, golf, yes?" She asked, smiling still, but trying hard to redirect them from one another, even if it was pretty much an impossible task.
Jane wondered sometimes lately if this is what a honeymoon felt like. She had been engaged to a man she dearly loved a few years before, but not even then had she felt this happy or, oddly, free. Whatever connection Jane shared with Ash seemed different, deeper in some ways. Perhaps it was the island and all its constant danger, but Jane seriously wondered if she had married the other man if it wouldn't have been a mistake. Ash simply felt more like her soul mate than anyone else ever had.

Not so long ago, talking like that around Jane would have been an assured method to get slapped or... told off or... something of that variety that he wasn't too keen on... experiencing. But now he was keen on experiencing pretty much anything Jane was willing to share with him, largely because he doubted she was going to slap his face or tell him off or snub him anytime soon. They'd gone past all that petty crappy, they weren't at odds anymore. Or... arguing anymore anyway, he didn't know if he was ever honestly at odds with her before. He'd realized a little while ago that he'd really just acted out toward her because he'd like her. Very grade school of him, but hey, he was about as mature as the average grade schooler, so it made perfect sense.
For the first time in his life, Ash had a girlfriend, a steady girlfriend who he was honestly totally in love with, and while that should have been the scariest thing he'd ever experienced, causing a crisis the likes of which he'd never dealt with before, it really was pretty fantastic. Jane made him feel great, and being with her was amazing. To throw a little hissy fit because he'd finally fallen for someone and he didn't like that he couldn't sleep around anymore just seemed dumb. Especially since Jane did more or less cure him of the desire to sleep around. He was just fine with being committed, so long as it was with her.
As if she'd read his mind and wanted to affirm just how good things were with her, she laced her arms around his neck, pressed up against him, and after what he thought was going to be a kiss on the lips, kissed his jaw instead, then rubbed her nose against his. Eskimo kisses. Damn. Jane really was as cute as he'd built her up to be. He didn't know how he'd have coped on this Island without somebody like her to make things seem not so bad.
Making a faux frown, "Damn new fangled rules. We should appeal to get 'em changed. I think naked golf is a very good way to exercise. And... get a tan. And all that stuff. It's healthy! Probably."
Pulling away just a bit, looking into his eyes, he knew that he'd have been pretty awkward right now with just about any other girl. But not with Jane. Around her, the quiet intense moments were... nice. He almost looked forward to them. Used to be that he'd fidget and look around and try to get 'em over with as quickly as possibly. Not with her. She broke another weird... taboo of his. No awkward intense moments. But now? They weren't awkward anymore. He really wondered how she did it.
When Jane finally backed away, he was a bit sad to lose the closeness, but they were here to learn golf, there'd be time letter for... other... lessons. Right now, they had to stick to this. Maybe he could get a few innuendos from her or a flirty look, something fun like that, but for right now, he had to be sort of professional. If he could manage it.

Jane gave a quirk of her brow, mischief running thick through her look at Ash. "Oh yeah, I'm sure you'd like me to bend over in front of you again," she teased. "But maybe we should stick to playing with golf balls instead this morning."
Kissing Ash's cheek playfully, Jane bumped him with her hip and turned back around to face the tee that held the golf ball. At least it hadn't fallen off again. She gave an inward thanks to the mystical island powers that be and moved to position herself over the golf ball like she'd always done before. She held the golf club like a skinny baseball bat and spread her feet like she would if she was standing in front of home plate. It was obvious she was more of a ball player than a golf player.
Of course, Ash would probably agree with that last sentiment and would be thrilled with the implications. The man was hilariously forward with his innuendos. It was something that used to irritate Jane terribly when they'd first crashed on the island. Now she found it funny, even a little bit endearing. Jane also couldn't complain about the sexual experience the man seemed to ooze. She used to be pretty worried about being compared to his other girlfriends, but now Jane felt herself simply reveling in the throes of passion he provided. Sometimes experience seemed to be a really good thing.
A tingle went up Jane's spine as she thought of the night before. She had never known being intimate with a man could be quite so fulfilling that it still effected her the next day. She looked behind her with a quick glance and caught sight of the man who seemed to captivate all of her senses. She sighed contentedly. Never had she met anyone like Ashley Higgins, and Jane hoped it wasn't just a short lived island romance. Although, considering they seemed stuck here for the rest of their lives, an island romance seemed the perfect thing.
*ahem* Jane cleared her throat and smiled to Ash over her shoulder. "So, am I doing this right?"

"I would! I really would. The view is... really nice. And full. And... pert. All that stuff. All that good stuff."
Jane really was cute, when she kissed his cheek and bumped him with her hip, it was pretty hard to stop himself from just... picking her up, carrying her into a shady spot, and doing terrible, terrible things to her. Or... not. Doing sex to her. Which wasn't terrible. At least he hoped not. He'd built up a pretty significant degree of skill since he'd first started boppin', and he really hoped that said skill equated to more than... terrible. Or horrible. Because that would be depressing for someone who took as much pride in their skill in the sack as Ash did. Which was a lot.
Anyway, long story short, he wanted to screw Jane right then. And all the time, but particularly right then. He couldn't because she was pretty committed to picking up on this golf thing, so he'd wait. 'til later. If she was in the mood. Which... if there was a merciful God in Heaven, she would be. If not? He'd... be... pretty mopey for the rest of the day. He needed his nookie, dammit!
Idling about as Jane angled herself at the tee, Ash tried hard not to picture her naked. He could only see the back of her and all, but he knew for a fact that she had a very, very nice back. And everything else. Nicer front, but... her back wasn't to be sniffed at. He was rambling, completely and totally rambling, but Jane tended to have that effect on him. Annoying as it was, he didn't mind it all that much. At this point, he was pretty sure it meant he loved her. So that was good. Even if it got annoying sometimes. Not the love part, the rambling in his head part.
He wondered if he had a similar effect on Jane. She could be just as lusty as him, but that didn't mean anything, she might just be a very horny person when she was with somebody, Ash knew he was certainly one of those. From what he could tell, she conducted herself pretty well around him, stopped from daydreaming, rambling, all that stuff, the stuff that Ash had trouble avoiding around her. She made it hard to concentrate on anything, and that should have been far more annoying than it actually was.
Shaking his head when Jane coughed, obviously trying to get his attention, he fixed his gaze back onto her, smiling kind of awkwardly, happy that he'd zoned back in quickly enough to catch her question.
Nodding ever so slightly, "More or less, yeah."
Quirking a coy little brow, "But you're a little off. Mind if I help?"

Jane liked sensing she caught Ash daydreaming again. It seemed he did that a lot lately and, considering he usually did it while looking at her, it couldn't be a bad thing. Jane hoped it meant he was as enamored with her as she was with him. It was really hard not to be infatuated with a man that was so good looking and made her feel so good. Truth be told, Jane knew it was far more than an infatuation. She was in love with a man that had at one time been really, really annoying. Jane was still trying to figure out how that happened, but no longer was she fighting it. In fact, she'd all but surrendered to it - and him.
Jane smiled widely at Ash and turned her head back as he said she was basically doing it right. That was also good news. She had tried to watch the other survivors as they stood at the tee. Jane was a very competitive soul and sports was something at which she really enjoyed excelling. To come across a sport (albeit a gentle one like golf) that she was having difficulty perfecting really annoyed the woman. She wanted to be hitting the balls correctly and give men like Ash a run for their money. Everyone needed a little competition to stay sane and feel alive. With it, there was no joy in winning. No sorrow in losing. It was just... passing time, and frankly all of them needed more than something just to pass the time.
"Of course you can help me," Jane replied to Ash's very gentlemanly inquiry. As if the man needed permission to touch her at this point. It was cute, almost so cute it made Jane want to turn around and lay a kiss on those luscious lips of his.
"You don't need to ask, you know," she continued, while making sure she kept her hands on the club and her eyes on the little white golf ball below. It kept her focused on something besides tackling her new lover into the grass and having another romp for while it was great exercise, it was not going to help her with her golf game. "Feel free to guide me with your great, big, strong hands any ol' time."
Jane smirked at the ground, knowing her little tease would bring a smile to that handsome face of his. She dare not look though, or she might cave to her more passionate desires rather than her competitive ones. Getting Ash outside the tent was a feat in itself these days, so Jane planned to milk the morning for every second she could get in the sun. Besides, it was good for them to take a break once in a while. in fact, Jane considered going hunting later on - after a little afternoon delight, of course. And that, after her golf lessons!
